Bookings

For open courses we require a completed booking from each course participant. This can be completed on-line on our website or we can email you a booking form for you to fill in. This can be printed out and faxed to us on +43 5472 20226 or sent by post. For group courses we need the names and addresses of each student which also can be filled in on-line with a group booking form.

Payment

We require a deposit of 50% of the course fee, at the time of booking. The outstanding balance is due to reach our account, at the latest, 15 days before the start of the course. Course fees do not include: accommodation, meals, transport costs or equipment hire. Personal equipment can be hired from us for a small hire charge, if booked in advance.

Cancellation

The deposit is fully refundable up to 15 days prior to the course date, or can be transferred to a course at a later date. Cancellation of a course place between 14 and 5 days before the start of the course will loose your deposit. Cancellation of a course place 4 or less days before the course start (or non attendance) will be billed at the full course cost. If Swiftwater Rescue cancels the course, for any reason, all payments are fully refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel a course if we feel that it is necessary (extreme weather, not enough course participants).

Prerequisites - Swiftwater Rescue Course

Every student must of read and understood the pre-requirements for the course they are booked on.

  • SRT - physically fit, good swimming ability, able to throw a throwbag at least 10m and able to tie basic climbing knots.

  • WRT - physically fit, good swimming ability, able to throw a throwbag at least 10m, able to tie basic climbing knots and kayak on grade 3 whitewater.

  • SRT Advanced - Must of attended a SRT or WRT course in the last 3 years, physically fit, good swimming ability, can tie all the knots from the SRT course with in ten seconds and abseil comfortably.

Prerequisites - Whitewater Rafting

Every guest must of read and understood the pre-requirements for the rafting tour they are booked on.

  • Every guest must be able to swim
  • Every guest must be 14 years of age or older
  • Every guest must be in an acceptical physical condition for the sporting activity of whitewater rafting.
  • Any medicines needed must be given to the guide for the duration of the tour.
  • Any guest thought to be under the influence of achahol or drugs will not be allowed to raft.
  • Any guest not wishing or able to wear the supplied safty equipment will not be allowed to raft.

Prerequisites - Whitewater Kayaking

Every Kayak student must of read and understood the pre-requirements for the whitewater kayaking course or guided tour they are booked on.

  • You must be able to swim
  • You must be in an acceptical physical condition for the sporting activity of whitewater kayaking.
  • You must have your own kayaking equipment or hire equipement from us at an extra charge. The kayak must be a design suitable for whitewater and equiped with airbags.

Re certification

Rescue 3 certification is valid for three years. All over the world Rescue 3 international trains people in water rescue, and once you have attended a Rescue 3 course you can re-certify for the same course anywhere in the world, with any Rescue 3 Instructor, for half the price of the regular course as long as your certification is valid. When re certifying you will need to bring your certificate and manual with you to the course.
